Janet Belle Frink, daughter of C.L. "Slim" Gossard and Letta "Belle" (Hess) Gossard, was born on May 31, 1937, in Mt. Etna, Ia. Janet graduated from Red Oak High School with the class of 1956.

Jan met the love of her life Donald E. Frink and they were united in marriage on June 24, 1956, at the Red Oak United Methodist Church. For the first seven years they were married they lived in ½ of a box car while Don worked as a welder for the railroad and welded track, following those years they moved several different times. They lived in Council Bluffs for several years when their children were young. As a family they enjoyed riding motorcycles down along the river and would take a picnic basket along for lunch and in the winter they enjoyed ice skating. They later moved to Lenox where Janet was an active mother and homemaker.

They later moved to Creston where Jan worked at Purolator on the line for a couple of years before going to work for Hills-McCanna where she blew glass as part of the production process. She finally worked at Gits Manufacturing for 27 years until she retired in 1999. Janet was an active volunteer at the Creston Area Food Pantry for many years.

Jan is survived by her two children, Timothy Frink of Treynor, Iowa and Nancy Abell (significant other Larry Dudley) of Orient, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Don Frink, Andy Frink, Brett Frink (fiancé Maxine), Hidie (significant other Tom Waters) and Adam (wife Tonya) Abell, Amanda Woods and Briana (husband James) Eaves; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Elaine Butler of Denver, Colo. along with many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, daughter-in-law Linda Frink, son-in-law Rod Abell, granddaughter Liz Lewis, grandson Charlie (Desiree) Abell and a step-granddaughter, Jennifer Babcock.
