So I've struggled as to what to write. But what I'm going to share is in part a letter I wrote to Jan last Summer for a scrapbook. I actually then read it to him with tears in my eyes...
"I just felt like writing you a "snail mail" letter. Ok kinda old school, but I'm following in my Mom's footsteps!
I just wanted to share with you how truly thankful & blessed I am that our blended family has always been close. This my friend is a rarity in this day and age. I remember the many occasions we all got together. Thanksgiving, Christmas, birthday parties, concerts & summer picnics. Yeah I especially remember the awesome chicken you made for these get togethers.
I also wanted to say what a good job you and Sandy did in raising your wonderful kids. (plus the help you got from Judy and I. Truly a team effort)
Matt and Stacey are kind, respectful, considerate and more.
I also really enjoyed our many talks over the years too. Especially my impromptu call asking you to lunch while I was in Eastlake visiting a supplier nearby."
I'll miss you Jan. But I'll always carry you in my heart and prayers.
God was and is with you forever.
I Love You Dude, Russ
