Max A. Sass & Sons Funeral and Cremation Service Westwood Chapel - MuskegoJan Purfuerst (nee Henrichs), finally reached her Heavenly mansion on August 22, 2025 at the age of 67 after a courageous three-and-a-half-year battle against cancer. Family was the cornerstone of Jan's life. She was the loving mom of Sarah (Larry) Wright and cherished “Nanny” of Larry lV. She was also the dear sister of Sandie (the late Bill) Thorsen, Bev (Gary) Ohm, Sue (Kipp) Leopold, and twin sister Jill (Mark) Wisotzke. Jan is preceded in death by her parents, Marcella and Robert Henrichs, and her brother, Robert “Butch” Henrichs. She is further survived by loved nieces, nephews, foster children, other relatives, her Trackside family, and friends.
Jan was a beacon of talent and creativity - a multifaceted artist, seamstress, designer, and author. She excelled in any challenge that was presented to her. One of her greatest joys was sharing the passion of RC racing with her grandson Larry.
Jan's life was a living example of what it means to be faith-filled. She was a woman who gave of herself selflessly, asking for nothing in return. It was her faith that carried her through her toughest times.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Bradley and his entire oncology team, along with the 4P nurses and staff at Froedtert Hospital. We would also like to thank Sarah Tonn for always being there when we needed you most.
A celebration of Jan’s life will be held at Lakewood Farms, W1470 County J, Mukwonago, WI 53149, on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Visitation will start at 2PM until the time of Jan's memorial service at 4PM. Dinner, lawn games and conversation to follow.
