Janet Dean Reardon, 72 of Fort Sumner, NM passed away Friday, June 28, 2924 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas following a sudden illness. Janet was born September 16, 1951 in Elida, New Mexico to the home of Robert Lee Broyce and Billy Jo Johnson. She attended schools in southeastern New Mexico, including Alamogordo High School. She received her Associates Degree in Nursing from Eastern New Mexico University and worked as a Registered Nurse until her retirement in 2013.
Janet was an avid reader, gardener, master treasure finder, and junk store lover. She enjoyed sitting on her porch sipping coffee, spending time creating crafts, and working as an assistant facilities manager. She was active in her community that she loved so dear. She especially loved being a mom and grandma, an animal lover. Janet supported her community. She was a member of the De Baca County Chamber of Commerce.
Janet is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by three children, two daughters Courtnay O’Brien and Sydnay Reardon both of Denver, Colorado, one son John Reardon of Fort Sumner, New Mexico, four grandchildren a granddaughter Claire O’Brien, three grandsons Lachlan O’Brien, Tuff Love, and Tek Reardon all of Denver, Colorado along with a host of good friends.
A family viewing was held Monday, July 1, 2024 at the Chavez Funeral Home in Fort Sumner. Cremation will take place. No formal service is scheduled.
