Jan Richards

Jan Richards passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, in Walla Walla, Washington. Born and raised in Spokane, she spent the last five years of her life in Walla Walla with her daughter and family. Jan lived a life filled with love, laughter, and deep devotion to those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Richards; parents, Helen and Eugene Boughter; and brothers, Jerry and Jeffery Boughter.
Married on St. Patrick’s Day in 1983, Jan and Bill shared 39 years together raising three children—Dominic Boughter, David Richards, and Deanne Garofalo. She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and two great-grandsons, who brought her endless joy.
A faithful member of First Covenant / The Gathering House in Spokane for 30 years, Jan found purpose in her faith and friendships. She was also a passionate supporter of the Spokane Chiefs Hockey Team, an artist who loved painting ceramics, and a talented cook known for her homemade jams and jellies.
Jan will be remembered for her warm smile, generous heart, and the way she made everyone feel welcome.
Funeral services will be held at Riplinger Funeral Home in Spokane on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS Foundation in her honor.
