Jan Crump Robinson, 69, of Brandon, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025. Visitation will be 9am until 11am Thursday, October 16, 2025, at The Church at Shiloh in Pelahatchie, MS. Services will follow at 11am at the church with burial in The Church at Shiloh Cemetery.
Born and raised in Schlater, Mississippi, Jan graduated from Pillow Academy in 1974 and Delta State University in 1978 where she was a member of the Tri Delta sorority. She completed her education at the University of Mississippi School of Nursing in 1981. Jan never lost her affection for the Mississippi Delta, the place she always called “home.”
Jan never met a stranger and shared her warmth and joy freely with everyone she encountered. A committed member of The Church at Shiloh, she served faithfully in many roles, including as a member of the Circle of Love and most recently as Chair of the Staff Relations Committee. Her faith was the foundation of her life and guided the way she cared for others.
A lifelong caregiver, Jan dedicated more than 35 years to her work as an orthopedic nurse, where she was known not only for her exceptional skill but for the kindness and comfort she brought to every patient she met. Her compassion and commitment were recognized with the Florence Nightingale Award, though her greatest reward was the trust and love of her patients and colleagues.
Jan’s heart was as big as her love for nature. A certified Master Floral Designer and Master Gardener, she shared her creative talents generously with her church, community, and friends. She had a gift for nurturing—whether it was a garden, a friendship, or the many stray dogs she welcomed into her home over the years.
She found joy in traveling, cooking, watching her hummingbirds, and most of all, in being “Jan Jan” to her beloved grandchildren. Jan’s life was a reflection of generosity, service, and love, and her legacy will continue to bloom in the lives she touched.
She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Robert (Bob) Robinson; twin daughters, Anne Carlew (Michael) and Sarah Burnett (Andrew); three grandchildren, Robinson Carlew (4), Baker Carlew (2) and Palmer Burnett (1), with another on the way; brother Bill Crump; sister Key Britt; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends and family members who will carry her memory in their hearts.
