Jan Ross, age 76, of Strunk, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.

Jan was born on October 28, 1947, the beloved daughter of Fred and Flossie (Waters) Spradlin. She led a fulfilling life and had the opportunity to work in the Sporting Goods Department for Walmart. Jan found solace in her faith as a member of Ross Grove United Baptist Church. She also enjoyed various hobbies such as sewing, flower gardening, baking, and watching cooking shows.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Flossie Spradlin; her husband, Jimmy Ray "Buck" Ross; as well as her brothers Elmon Spradlin, Bob Spradlin, and Inman Spradlin; and sisters Dorothy Musgrove, Ora Bowman, Judy Spradlin, Mildred Daugherty, and Flora Cox.

Jan's memory will forever be cherished by those who survive her: her loving son Jimmy Allen Ross (Tasha) of Strunk, Kentucky; daughters Misty Hicks (Austin) of Strunk, Kentucky; Christy Coffey (Andrew) of Monticello, Kentucky; Diana Koger of Georgia; brothers Tod Spradlin of Pine Knot, Kentucky; Lowell Buster Spradlin of Strunk, Kentucky; grandchildren Caleb Hansford, Madison Hansford, Kaeli Pitman, Andrea Coffey, Bryan Koger, Brittany Smith, Christopher Hale, McKenna Cowan, Lucas Eldridge, and Gracie Eldridge; great-grandchildren Wade Foster, Mason Smith, Levi Smith, Luke Koger, Kamryn Hale, Adley Hale, and Addison Koger.

A funeral service to celebrate Jan's life will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at 1 p.m. at McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Timothy Corder officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in the Ross Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. onwards on Thursday at the funeral home.

Jan's final arrangements have been entrusted to the caring professionals at McCreary County Funeral Home.
