Jana Lee Witty

Mrs. Jana L. Witty, 84, of Newnan, GA, formerly of West Monroe, Louisiana, passed away in her sleep on Friday, September 13, 2024, due to complications from Alzheimer's. She was born October 30, 1939, in Maytoy, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles N. Witty, as well as her siblings Walter James "Dub" Pettett, Toney Tate, Ray Pettett, Moneta O' Quinn, and Dr. Jack Pettett.
Jana attended Bochita High School and was awarded the Balfour Medal of Honor. She excelled at her typing and worked as a secretary in numerous positions before starting her own business as a partner in court reporting.
She married "Charlie" Witty and lived between Dallas, TX, and Monroe, LA. She was very active in the church and sang in the choir, as well as dedicating time to the Kairos Prison Ministry with her husband.
A Burial Service will be held at a later date in Hico, Texas, at the family's lot in Hico Cemetery.

She is survived by two sons, Samuel B. Witty and J. Stephen Witty, both of Newnan, GA. Her only grandson is S. Jacob "Jake" Witty, who practices law in Savannah, Georgia.
