In Loving Memory of Janalee Standridge
October 2, 1958 - April 12, 2025
Janalee Standridge, a woman whose strength, humor, and compassion touched every life she encountered, passed away on April 12, 2025, surrounded by those she loved the most. Though her fight was long and filled with challenges, she faced every day with grace and determination, never letting the pain show, and always putting others first.
Janalee was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ruthann Fishkin and George Smith, and her brother, George Curtis Smith. Though we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the extraordinary life she lived and the love she gave so freely.
Janalee is survived by her loving husband and soulmate, Gary Standridge. They were married for 35 beautiful years and shared 37 unforgettable years together-full of memories, laughter, hardships, and joy. Through every up and down, they stood side by side, beating all the odds and building a life full of deep love and unwavering devotion. Their bond was the kind that inspires others and one that time and illness could never break.
Those continuing to celebrate her life include her daughter Shelby Standridge and her husband James Caulfield, and her grandchildren Braiden, Bradley, Bryson, Chloe, and her daughter Mandee Murphy and her husband Donald Murphy, along with grandchildren Donovan, Dylan, Dominick, and Cali. She is also lovingly remembered by her sons Gabriel Horn and his wife Shannon Horn and granddaughter Briella, Nicolas Horn, Steven Standridge and granddaughter Cheyanne, and Chris Standridge and his wife Holly Standridge and grandchildren Cody and Jessica.
Janalee had many more family members and countless friends-many of whom she considered family-whose lives were deeply enriched by knowing her.
Her presence could light up any room, and she had an uncanny ability to read people with a glance, always knowing exactly what to say. Her sense of humor was unmatched-quick-witted and bold-and she brought laughter and comfort wherever she went. Whether she was at her favorite casino, out to dinner, or even at her doctor's appointments and treatments, she made friends everywhere, leaving lasting impressions through her warmth and authenticity.
Janalee was a fighter through and through. She carried a strength that most never saw because she hid her pain so well. She lifted others even when she was hurting. Though our hearts were not ready to let her go, her body, spirit, and heart were. She is no longer in pain, and we find peace in knowing she was able to walk through the golden gates she had longed for-reunited with those she loved and missed so dearly. She will be deeply missed, but her love, laughter, and legacy will live on forever in every life she touched.
