Jane Maddox Abel of Senoia, GA (born 1930, Dalton, GA) has passed away on September 7th, 2025. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Trammell Starr Maddox and Loutie Fitts Maddox, both of Dalton, GA, and her husband, Jack F Abel, of Senoia, GA. She is survived by her two sons, Fred Abel and Ward Abel, both of Senoia, Georgia, her three granddaughters, Amy Abel of Milner, GA, Jane Spivey and Mary Kate Long, both of Newnan, GA, her two great-grandchildren, Maddox Ransom and Autumn Spivey, her step-granddaughter Amy Moore, and step-great-grandchildren, Kendall and Taylor Moore, and her nephew, Trammell Starr Maddox III, of Newnan, GA. Jane taught school in Clayton County, Georgia and retired after 30 years of service there. Additionally, she taught Sunday School at Jonesboro (Georgia) First Baptist Church for decades. She was a life-long Georgia Bulldog fan, as well as a proud graduate of Mercer University in Macon, GA where she pledged membership and served as president of Chi Omega women's fraternity. She loved her family and her dogs, as well as her friends, to whom she was completely devoted. Most significantly she loved the Lord and lived a life of true spiritual strength which inspired those around her to seek the Lord as well. Visitation Tuesday evening, September 9 at Ford Stewart Funeral Home 5-7 PM in Jonesboro, GA, and services Wednesday, September 10, will be Graveside at West Hill Cemetery in Dalton, GA at 1PM.
