Jane Hall Abernathy Adams, age 80, a resident of Lawrenceville, VA, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia and Henry Hall; her first husband, Harry Abernathy, Jr.; and her second husband, Donald Adams.
Jane was born in South Boston, VA where she graduated from Bluestone High School. She was very active in her church, Rosemary Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Asbury Methodist Church in McKenney, VA. She always checked in on the elderly and spent a lot of time in nursing homes visiting and bringing joy to the patients there. She was an expert gardener and spent much of her free time in her flower beds. She was a Cub Scout leader and went on to earn many merit badges, even after her troop had moved up.
She is survived by a daughter, Rose Abernathy Miller (Stephen); a son, Harry W. Abernathy, III (Robyn); grandchildren, Chloe Abernathy Addie and Colin Abernathy Addie; and a sister, Doris Winn.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Williams Funeral Home & Crematory in Lawrenceville, VA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent by mail to Greyhound Care and Adoption of North Carolina, P.O. Box 4221, Cary, NC 27519, or made online via gca-nc.org/donate
