Keeling & Goodman Funeral HomeJane V. Barger, 74, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center at Mercy Health, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on May 7, 1951, Jane was a proud graduate of Reidland High School, Class of 1969. A dedicated and determined woman, she went on to become the co-owner and operator of Air-Tech Heating and Air, where she worked tirelessly for over 22 years, serving her community with pride and professionalism.
Jane had a sharp mind and a love for the beach, camping, puzzle books and word games, always ready to challenge herself and others. She was known for her quick wit, honest opinions, and a deep desire to stay connected — she never missed a chance to catch up on the latest happenings or lend a hand to those in need and often times even to those she couldn’t help but to look after. Her warm spirit and unapologetic authenticity made her unforgettable to all who knew her, and to know her was to love her.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Julian and Shirley Ford; her beloved husband, Gene Barger; and her dear aunt, Libby Tinsley.
Jane is survived by her devoted children, Cheryl (Chad) Durard and Michael (Christina) Culp; her siblings, Jimmy Ford and Patti (Billy) Rushing; and her cherished grandchildren: Ashley Floyd, Austin (Kristen) Walters, Tara Durard, Tana (Aaron) Owen, Wesley (Alexis) Culp, and Brentley Culp.
She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews: Jason (Christel) Rushing and daughter Brelen, Brandon Rushing and daughter Carly, Mandy (Michael) Evitts and daughters Maddie and Macey, great-grandchildren: her absolute pride and joy Noah and Jaxon Cagle, Abel Durard, Parker Floyd, Krew Owen, Maggie Martin, River and Riggs Graham, Rylee and Chandler Walters; and soon-to-be-born great-granddaughter, Wrenlee Culp.
Visitation will be held at Keeling & Goodman Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 21st, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Jane’s life will take place on Wednesday, October 22nd, at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jane’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, a cause close to her heart.
Jane will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her strength, humor, and the love she so freely gave - a spirit that lives on in the hearts of all who loved “Miss Daisy.”
