Jane Ann Brindle, age 82, of Toledo, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2023. Jane was born on December 7, 1941, in Defiance OH, to Charles and Edythe Behringer. She was a longtime resident of the Toledo area and served the community as a nurse for over 40 years.
Jane was compassionate and caring, especially to her patients. She spent her career at the Lucas County Health Department as a nurse supervisor and Springfield Schools as a school nurse for eight schools. During her time as a school nurse, Jane led a communicable diseases effort, completed home visits for the local Bureau of Children with Medical Handicaps, headed up a Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever education program and was active in a host of nursing issues affecting women such as child and spousal abuse, AIDS education, breast cancer prevention, and parenting. She also worked with the Help Me Grow Program. Jane was an advocate for her patients, always honest and genuine in making sure they received the best care.
Her compassion went beyond her career, as she cared for her family and raised two children. Jane also volunteered at St. Anne's Hospital and the Humane Society. In her free time, she enjoyed making cards, playing bingo, and attending concerts.
Jane is preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert Marc Brindle; and brother, Frederick Behringer. She is survived by her daughter, Kristine (Robert) Walker; granddaughter, Lailani Walker; step-grandchildren, Morgan (Austin) Worley, Piper (Ashton) Arvin, and Maddi Walker; and sister-in-law, Betty Behringer.
