Jane M. Cantz, 72, of Worcester, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at UMass Hospital in Worcester.
Jane was born on May 24, 1953, in Milford, MA to Helen and Joseph Cantz. She received her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Clark University but pursued a career in software development working for Powersoft and Sybase, Inc, and later for Staples developing leading edge software before retiring in 2007.
Throughout her life, she championed many causes close to her heart, including animal rights.
Jane is survived by her sister, Cynthia Milin and her husband Anthony Milin; her niece, Jacqueline Barrell and her husband Danny; and her great-nieces, Samantha and Jessica Barrell.
Calling Hours will be on Tuesday, December 16, from 11 am until her Funeral Service begins at 12 Noon in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Bay Path Humane Society of Hopkinton, 500 Legacy Park North, Hopkinton, MA 01748.
