Wanda Jane Kendrick Duncan was born August 11, 1935, 20 minutes before her twin brother Bill, in Morris, Okmulgee County, Oklahoma, to Dora Celia (nee Howard) and James Burl Kendrick. The family moved to Antlers, Pushmataha County, Oklahoma where Jane grew up and graduated from Antlers High School. She attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman and Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant. While studying in Durant, she met Cecil A. Duncan of Edinburg, TX. They married on November 14, 1956, and immediately traveled to Naval Air Station Patuxent River, St. Mary's County, Maryland, where Cecil became a Naval Aviator. After the birth of the first of their three daughters, in 1958, they packed up and came home to Edinburg where Cecil joined the family business, C.E. Duncan Produce Co., and Jane took care of everything else. When the girls started school, Jane became a long-time substitute teacher for ECISD. She then started a new career in real estate with Carol Hill Real Estate in Edinburg. Jane found her most favorite job when Mr. Dub Bailey hired her as an outside sales representative for Gateway Printing & Office Supply where she worked for 36 years until her retirement in 2022. She loved her Gateway family very much.
