Jane Ferrell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Alternatives Cremation and Funeral Service - Oklahoma City on Jul. 19, 2024.
Jane Gail Ferrell, aged 73, passed away on July 19, 2024. She was a beloved mother, partner, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Jane was born on March 1, 1951 in Memphis, then moved between Texas, New York, and finally settled in Midwest City, OK. She went on to attend high school as a Midwest City Bomber '69, then got her Masters in City Planning from the University of Oklahoma. She worked for various entities within the City of OKC, ultimately working in city planning and helping raise awareness about the homeless. Throughout her career, she was known for her hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others.
But more than anything, Jane loved being a grandmother, preferring to be called "Honey". She loved spending time with her grandchildren, sharing stories, playing games, and watching their favorite TV shows. She also became a mother to more than her one and only child. She was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.
In her free time, she loved watching sports - specifically ANYTHING OU or OKC Thunder basketball. She was an excellent judge of character, always had a smile on her face, and was always there to lend an ear.
Jane is survived by her partner Russell Davis, daughter Ashley West, her husband Bradley and grandchildren Sarah Jane and Mae Renee West, her sister Diane Darby and husband Lynn along with her four nieces and nephews, Ferrell Darby, Amanda Martin, Jane Ann Darby, and Ryan Darby, her foster daughter Ralena O'Brien and grandchildren Mason and Daisy O'Brien, and the many lives she touched along the way.
A celebration of her life will be August 4th at 3pm, at Native Spirits Winery
10500 East Lindsey st
Norman, ok 73026
