Jane Griffin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mitchell-Wiedefeld Funeral Home, Inc. on Feb. 24, 2026.
Jane Griffin passed away peacefully at her home on February 20, 2026.

Born in Baltimore on July 8, 1955, Jane was the beloved daughter of Bernard and Geraldine Kuchta (Bernie and Gerry). She was raised in Towson and attended Towson Catholic High School, where she met the love of her life, Richard "Dick" Griffin. Their love story began in December 1971, when Jane asked Dick to accompany her to her junior prom. They were married on May 4, 1979, and together built a life rooted in love, laughter, and family. Richard preceded Jane in death in 2014, as did her parents.

Jane was first and foremost a devoted mother, something she always said was her greatest dream. She is survived by her four children: Michael Griffin (Amanda), Katy Griffin Dore (Michael), Stephen Griffin, and Emily Griffin (Doug Wall). She was a proud and loving Nana to her granddaughter, Fiona Griffin, who brought her endless joy.

Jane is also survived by her sisters, whom she considered her best friends: Patti Fannon (Michael), Clare Andreone (Joe), and Marty Kuchta, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cherished friends who were like family.

An avid reader, Jane could often be found enjoying a good book, especially while relaxing on the beach. She appreciated life's simple pleasures, from a perfect cup of morning coffee to collecting recipes and preparing new dishes for holiday gatherings. Always ready for an adventure, Jane loved road trips and making memories with her children.

Jane was loved beyond measure. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering dedication to her family will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Time to visit with the family be held at Mitchell-Wiedefeld Funeral Home in Baltimore on Thursday, March 5th from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. A memorial mass in Jane's honor will take place at Immaculate Conception Church in Towson on Friday, March 6th at 11am.
