A private graveside service will take place in Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, Ill. A grand memorial celebration of Jane's life will be held locally at a later date. Jane was born July 30, 1937, in Chicago to Frank and Rose (Szczepaniak) Hawryszko. She attended Westcott Vocational High School and began working side by side with her mom. Together, they co-owned Rose and Jane's 48th Club in Chicago, a neighborhood tavern and banquet hall specializing in Polish catering. Rose and Jane continued this business for 25 years, until Rose retired and joined Jane at her home in Michigan.
Jane was a hard worker, caring for her mother and husband until their passing. Jane was then employed at the Whitcomb Retirement Home, St. Joseph, where she loved every role she took on, either in the dining room or as a receptionist making sure everyone was helped, cared for and loved. Jane loved and made an impact on so many lives. Over the years, children were welcomed into her home, becoming family along the way and Jane cherished every relationship she gained. She instilled those three words "Go with God" when anyone left her home. Jane had a love for dancing and cooking but above all, Jane loved her family deeply and unconditionally, making sure no one went without.
Jane is survived by her daughter, Donna Rentas; daughter-in-law, Lauren Brasko; brothers: David (Susan) Hawryszko and Daniel Hawryszko; grandchildren: Romy Ingels, Christopher, Jordan, Scott and Tim Brasko; great-grandchildren: Jonathan and Jessica Ingels, Owen Brasko and Mateo Brasko and great-great-grandchildren: Isabelle, Elliana and Olivia Ingels. Also surviving are Jane's nieces and nephews: Larry, Sandy, Debbie, Eddie and Johnny; her longtime companion and dear friend, Art Stanley; and her beloved dog, Pippa.
In addition to her parents, Jane is preceded in death by her son, Don Brasko; her husband, Leonard Brasko; siblings: Stella Kamradt, John Hawryszko, Tommy Hawryszko; grandson, Matthew Frank Ingels and niece, Linda Hawryszko.
A very special thank you to the blessed hands of Crystal and Ryan Loomis and Henrietta Hernandez, who helped Donna take care of Jane in the last two months of her life as well as her extended family for support to Donna in her brother Don's place.
