Jane Heavener

Mary Jane Heavener, 85, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. She was born on January 7, 1940 and had lived all of her life in the Chattanooga/Ringgold area. Jane was a graduate of the University of Chattanooga. She retired from TVA after 37 years of service. Mrs. Heavener was of the Baptist faith and had been a huge supporter of UTC Athletics (especially women's basketball).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Fitzpatrick Sells and Janie Rainey Sells; brother, Albert Fitzpatrick Sells, Jr.; and sisters, Dora Sells, Geraldine Sells and Betty Alexander.

Survivors include her loving husband, Dean Wood Heavener; step-sons, Sherman Heavener and Donovan Heavener (Tina); step-daughter, Danielle Schroeder (Scott); nieces and nephews, Wesley Alexander (Shan), Rene Hipp (Terry), Stephen Sells (Diane), Deborah Turner and Michael Sells (Debra); along with many great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM Tuesday, October 28th in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
