New Britian, CT: Jane (Tully) Iozzo, 102, from Southbridge and a longtime resident of New Britian, passed away on Thursday, May 22nd, at the Connecticut Hospice of Branford, after a brief illness.
She was born in Worcester, MA to the late Benjamin F & Ester (Egan) Tully. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony F. Iozzo Sr. who passed away in 1994 as well as three sons, Gregory Iozzo, Anthony F. Iozzo Jr., and Michael F. Iozzo. She was also predeceased by three brothers, Robert F. Tully, William J. Tully and David E. Tully, Sr. and her sister, Margaret Boudreau.
Jane leaves her brother, Benjamin F. Tully, II and his wife Nancy of Southbridge; her daughter-in-law, Maria Iozzo Gwillim of Sarasota and her partner Sebastian Adorno of New Britain; her daughter-in-law Gail Iozzo Quinn of Ellington; a granddaughter, Melanie Alvarez and her husband Steven of Sarasota, FL; two great grandchildren, Athena and Gabriel; a cousin, Deborah Sichol of CT; and many nieces, nephews and countless friends including Mary Morell, Dolores Breault, Kathy Kelleher, and Judy Ruff, who have been instrumental in supporting her and the family during her illness.
Jane worked as a supervisor at the Stanley Works Credit Union for over 20 years. After retiring she worked for her brother Ben's company Tully Construction for several years. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Jerome's Church (now St. Francis Parish) in New Britian. She served as a lector at the church and helped with the parish's prayer line. Jane loved reading and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She will be remembered for her undying faith and her incredible wit and humor.
A funeral Mass for Jane will be held on Saturday, May 31st, at 10:00am in St. Mary's Church of the St. John Paul II Parish, 263 Hamilton St., Southbridge. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Southbridge. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Francis Parish, 1010 Slater Rd. New Britain CT, 06053.
The Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, is directing arrangements.
