WATERVLIET - Jane Gill Irving, of Watervliet, entered into eternal rest, Wednesday, September 24, 2025. Born on December 21, 1930, in Oswego, N.Y., she was the daughter of James Francis and Grace Hall Gill. Jane married Francis R. "Charlie" Irving Jr., on November 8, 1952, in Oswego, and together they raised their three children in Latham.
A graduate of Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in New York City, Jane worked for many years as a secretary at Milanese Realty. In their retirement, she and Charlie enjoyed skiing and golfing. They spent as much time as possible at their beloved Camp Ackey in the Adirondacks, surrounded by their children, grandchildren and extended family.
Predeceased by her husband, Charlie; her son, Francis R. "Frank" Irving III; her daughter, Patricia "Patty" Irving Anderson; and grandson, Tyler Longland. Jane is survived by her sister, Mary "Nan" Zell, of Murrells Inlet, S.C.; her brother, James F. "Jimmy" Gill, of Syracuse; her daughter, Margaret "Meg"; and son-in-law, Frank LoRe, of Niskayuna; grandchildren, Ryan (Kari), Colin (Cory) and Amanda Irving, Lucas, Matthew and Jack LoRe; and great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Ellie and Brody Irving. Jane is also survived by a very large number of much loved nieces, nephews, and their families.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m., at The Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, October 17, 2025, 10:00 a.m., with Revered Geoffrey Burke, celebrant. Interment to follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
