Publish in a newspaper

Jane Ann Kauer was born on October 6, 1932 in the township of Chelsea, Wisconsin. She died one day after her 93rd birthday.

Her parents were Leo and Erna (Pinsch) Mahner. They were dairy farmers who raised her along with two younger sisters, Jean and Joan, and two younger brothers Lee and Lin. Jane graduated from Medford High School in 1950, a class of 100 students.

Jane married and gave birth to six children, then in 1967, Jane and her family moved to Jacksonville Beach, Florida where she landed a great job in a downtown office at the Seaboard Coastline Railroad. She worked there for 13 years from 1967 to 1980.

Jane gave her life to the Lord in July of 1974. She was 42 years old when she came to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jane's most memorable trip was to the Holy Land of Israel and to Rome in 1979.

In 1980, Jane sold the Florida home and moved to Dallas, Texas, to attend Christ for the Nations Bible College. She was part of the 1980-1982 graduating class. After graduation, she worked as a Christian counselor in Texas, Wisconsin, and Colorado.

Jane moved in with her mother in 1999 in Wisconsin to care for her until she died in 2004. She then moved to Larned, Kansas, where she lived with her daughter, Debra, and Granddaughter, Gwen until she moved into Diversicare of Larned one year ago.

Soon after moving to Larned, Jane made Larned Assembly of God (Valley Community Church) her church and served as a deacon for six years. She also continued to counsel people when requested. She was a volunteer for the PCVH Auxiliary and worked the front desk at the hospital as well as making scrubbies for the gift shop. Jane also spent her days knitting slippers, crocheting beautiful blankets, working puzzles, reading her Bible, and praying.

Jane is survived by her five children: Debra Kauer of Larned, KS, Stephen (Amy) Kauer of Loyal, WI, Terry Kauer of Medford, WI, Todd (Lynda) Kauer of Marshfield, WI, and Lisa (Mike) Dragan of Highlands Ranch, CO.

She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Jane was preceded in death by her baby boy, David Paul, and two infant granddaughters, Maria and Jennifer. Also preceding her were her brothers Lin and Lee Mahner.

Jane's final wish was for all her family to come to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and to live their lives for Him.

"I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in truth!" (3 John 1:4)

Jane's memorial service will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Valley Community Church, Larned, with Pastor Ryan Webster presiding. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm Friday, October 24, 2025 at Beckwith Mortuary.
