Elvis Aaron Presley was born on January 8, 1935, and passed away at his home in Memphis, TN on August 16. 1977. Did you know that? Jane did. Did you know that the first movie she saw “in color” was The Wizard of Oz at Linda Kincaid’s house? The Wizard of Oz was always her favorite movie. Do you know how many little people were part of the ensemble cast to film The Wizard of Oz? Jane would want you to know the answer is 124. Do you prefer John Wayne’s Rio Bravo, El Dorado or The Searchers? FYI, the correct answer is The Searchers. Can you name all the members of the Rat Pack? If not, the answer is Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop. People always forget about Joey Bishop, but not Jane, she knew all of them. Jane watched all the Elvis movies in the theatre and then would immediately purchase the album soundtrack and learn all the songs. Jane leaves behind an impressive stock of Elvis memorabilia worthy of any yard sale in the south. Jane was an “old movie” aficionado, well versed in mafia culture and took to her grave that as an actor, Marlon Brando was overrated. In addition to a house full of movie memorabilia, Jane leaves behind 53 pairs of scissors because “you never know when you’re going to need them”. Jane was banned from Hip Donelson, Hip White House, and Hip Cross Plains for violating platform guidelines in the same week. This may have been the best week of her life. Jane loved her 30 plus years working at Nacarato Volvo GMC. She held a great deal of affection for Bob, Mike Jr, Joe, Lynn F, Little Lynn, Maria, Clyde and many more. She treated her brother Billy, like a baby well into his 60’s. She admired the strength of her sister Joan, her entire life. She adored her mother, Betty. She loved Her Tina, Treyman, and Candi. She embraced the roll of Granny Goober “Goo Goo” for Charlee Rose, Okleydude, KinleyBeth, Easton, Tatum and was proud Baby Kohen made it home from the hospital. Jane remained close with her high school friends and enjoyed the frequent lunches and visits over the last few years. This author has a contractual obligation to remind everyone she was awarded the Two Rivers High School superlative for Most Courteous in 1971. Finally, she loved her son Chris. Jane always said, “kids are like a bad poker hand, and sometimes you have to play the cards you were dealt”.

She is survived by her son, Chris (Allison) Keith; granddaughter, Charlee Rose; sister, Joan Barnfield; brother, Billy Barnfield (Cindy); nieces and nephews, Candice Haggard (Thomas), Kristina Stubblefield (Mark), Trey Barnfield (Kalee), Casey Cappadona (Nick), and Rachel Barnfield. She is also survived by her great nieces and nephews, Kinley, Easton, Jennifer, Isaiah, Okley, Tatum and Kohen.

She is preceded in death by her parents Betty Ann Barnfield and Billy R. Barnfield, and her aunt Mary Jo Etheridge.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to The Nashville Rescue Mission or the American Red Cross Disaster Relief.
