Jane Krause Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Krause Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Inc. - Brookfield on Dec. 15, 2025.
Jane Marie Krause (née Eberhardt)

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and lifelong learner, Jane passed away on December 13, 2025, at the age of 82. She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Peter) Birmingham and Ann (Brian) Barrett; son William (Amanda) Krause III; and grandchildren Connor, Allison, Cooper, Michael, Liam, and Katherine. Sister of Julie Eckardt, sister-in-law of Lorna Byrd and Donna Cummings. Also loved by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. She was preceded in death by William Frederick Krause, Jr., in 2023.

A graduate of Riverside High School (1961) and the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee (1965), Jane's curiosity and love of learning never slowed-whether through book groups, the Dow Janes' investment club, or classes at St. Camillus and the Elm Grove School for Lifelong Learning.

Jane wore many cardigans and many hats. She was a science teacher and an avid reader, a devoted church volunteer and a keen bird watcher, a bridge player and a dedicated seamstress. She loved gathering people together as the "hostess with the mostest," and she found joy on the golf course and tennis court. Jane was a proud member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority, AAUW, and Calvary Lutheran Church.

Of all her roles, Jane's favorite title was Grandma. She delighted in her family, and her steady love, warmth, and bright mind shaped everyone lucky enough to know her.

Visitation from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Monday, December 29, 2025 at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin.

Additional visitation 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, followed by service at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1750 North Calhoun Road, Brookfield, Wisconsin. Private burial at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, Wisconsin.

Memorials are appreciated to Sojourner Family Peace Center.
