Jane Lee Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home, Inc. - Columbus on Feb. 11, 2026.
Jane Lee, 80, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026 and was reunited with her beloved husband, Douglas M. Lee. Jane was born in Norton, Virginia, on December 29, 1945, to the late Lewis and Dora (Vanover) Gibson. Jane worked for many years for Arvin Industries before retiring 33 years ago to pursue a vocation that she enjoyed immensely – that as a fulltime mamaw. She attended Covenant Family Worship Center and was an avid gardener. Jane possessed a green thumb that could grow just about anything. She also enjoyed painting statues and figurines that often found their homes in her gardens. Jane will be fondly remembered for her generosity, kindness, and unconditional love that she showered on her family and many friends. In addition to her parents and Doug, Jane was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Sheila (Victor) Chacon of Cincinnati and a son, Tony Lee; sister, Lois Collins; grandchildren, Brandon Kyle (Lindsay) Thompson, Joshua Shawn Douglas Thompson, Chad Jarrett (Elisha) Thompson, and Alex Parker (Madison) Thompson; two great grandchildren, Felix Julian Thompson and Maeverly Jane Thompson. Jane's Life Celebration® Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at Jewell-Rittman Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 21, 2026, 4 to 7 p.m., and from 12 to 1 p.m., Thursday, January 22, 2026. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday, followed by burial in Garland Brook Cemetery. Bishop Bob Vance will officiate.
