Jane Susan Lindell, the daughter of Roy and Ruby (Johnson) Lindell, was born May 12, 1949, in Milbank, SD. She was baptized as an infant at the LaBolt Mission Covenant Church. At the age of 21, Jane was given an honorary membership to this same church (now Countryside Covenant, rural Milbank).
In early childhood, Jane's life changed forever due to the onset of Rett Syndrome. Jane became a resident at care facilities in Redfield and Custer, SD. Since June of 1998, Jane has resided in Madison, SD with the support staff at Valiant Living (formerly known as ECCO Homes) as her caregivers.
Spending time with family and support staff was important to Jane and simple pleasures brought joy to her life. She attended Valiant Living's Day Activities where she experienced life-enrichment activities with her friends. Jane enjoyed watching movies, listening to quiet music, relaxing on the patio in the summertime and van rides around the lake.
Jane will be remembered for her quiet, gentle spirit and her patient endurance through many serious health issues. Even though non-verbal, she communicated with her pretty eyes, thoughtful facial expressions and her sweet smile.
Jane's body is now healed, her spirit is free, and she is experiencing all that God has promised for His children.
Welcoming Jane to heaven were her parents: Roy and Ruby; brother-in-law, Eldon Felt, her grandparents; all of her aunts and uncles and cousins: Byron, Charles; Sydney and Vernice.
Treasuring the memory of a very precious sister are Mary Ellen Felt; Barbara (Duane) Schlomer; and Rhonda (Larry) McDonald. Jane is also remembered by many nieces; nephews; cousins and her friends and support staff at Valiant Living Homes.
Blessed be the memory of Jane Susan Lindell.
