Jane Virginia Madigan

Jane Virginia Markley Madigan, 94, of Edinburg, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at her nephews' home. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 2:00pm at Heishman Funeral Service in Woodstock. Pastor Todd Crowder will officiate. Burial will be held at Hotteltown Cemetery in Edinburg. The family will receive friends Monday, August 25, 2025, from 5-7pm at the funeral home. The family invites everyone to join them to celebrate Jane's life at her residence following the graveside services. Please bring a covered dish and a lawn chair.

Mrs. Madigan was born August 11, 1931, in Shenandoah County, daughter of the late Rodney and Theresa Walters Markley. She was a 1949 graduate of Woodstock High School and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Jerome. She was a life member of Fort Loudoun Chapter NSDAR and associate member of Narrow Passage Chapter NSDAR. Mrs. Madigan and her husband were very active members of Hottel-Keller Memorial Inc., in its early days, where Jane served as president and as a member the board for many years. She served as a trustee of Hottle-Keller cemetery in Mount Olive. Mrs. Madigan was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi and a member of Daughters of 1812. She was also a member of Women's Civic League of Winchester, and a life member of the NRA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Howard Madigan, and her sister, Mary Maxine Foltz.

Jane is survived by her nephew, Richard Foltz; great-nephew, Rodney Foltz and wife, Amy, and their son, Dale; great-niece, Sarah Sullivan and husband, Matt, and children, Destiny and Corbin Bowman.

Pallbearers will be Dale Foltz, Rodney Foltz, Corbin Bowman, Vance Stewart, Keary Bowman, and Dale Frittz.

Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork St., Suite 405 Winchester, VA 22601.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Blue Ridge Hospice Team-especially Jeanna, Wanda, Lily, Mary Ann, Tina, and the rest of the dedicated staff who provided care to Jane for over two years. A special thanks to Amy Foltz, and Richard Foltz for their dedicated care and compassion shown to Jane.
