I was fortunate to know Jane as both a teacher and a colleague/mentor; she fostered a respect for multicultural education and the Spanish language with all of her students, altered the course of so many lives through her work as an educator... she played a huge part in helping me to obtain my first full-time teaching position. I learned so much from Jane. She was a strong woman and a role model for so many, and she will be deeply missed. Mi más sentido pésame por su pérdida, my deepest condolences to her family.

Jane was someone who loved people. She would help students in any way she could and she was always willing to listen to a colleague if you were willing to hear what she had to say. When the question, "is it me or is it them?" came up, she always knew which "them" was being referred to and she always had a quip that made me smile. I am grateful for the privilege of having known her and learning from her.

Señora Margraf was a major influence in my life as a student at mason and encouraged my Spanish even when I didn´t think it was good. Now having graduated with a Spanish major I hope to make her proud and know she is watching down encouraging all of us to live life to the fullest, travel, and always continue learning. I am so grateful to have had time as her student.
I am sending lots of love and prayers for the family as they process this loss

I was saddened to hear of Jane´s passing. I worked with her at Mason. She was among the first people I met there, was like my work mom and an incredible mentor and supporter. She will be dearly missed. I think about her often with fond memories especially at the holidays. Hugs to her family as they cherish her memory.
