The celebrated life of Jane McEndree
October 16, 1942 - October 30, 2025
Jane was born to her parents Dorman and Billie on October 16, 1942 in Dallas, Texas. When she was still very young her father was drafted into the Army during World War 2. He was captured along with many of his comrades and was taken as a prisoner of war. Thankfully he was later liberated and was able to return home. Her brother Mike was born not long after she turned 5. It would be quite a few more years and then her little sister Connie was born on Jane's 16h birthday. Jane married the love of her life, Jerry when she was 18 years old. Jane and Jerry were happily married for nearly 55 years before he passed. They had 3 children: Scott, Lori and Stephen, 2 daughters-in-law: Cheryl and Tonya, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren so far.
Jane was a person of many interests and everything she did, she did well. She was an artist (in fact she taught oil painting when the kids were all small), she loved to read, knit, do various crafts and she loved genealogy. She loved the history of how our family tied in with world history but she also loved getting to meet and correspond with newly found distant cousins. She was a people person for sure.
At the age of 12, Jane made a decision that would impact not only her life and eternity, but also that of countless others. Jane accepted Christ as her Savior and Lord while attending Vacation Bible School with a neighborhood friend. She understood even at that age that this was a very serious decision.
Jane's family is rejoicing today because we know and celebrate the fact that she is with our Heavenly Father now. Jane was very diligent to make sure that all of her kids came to know about that same Jesus that had changed her life. Not only about attending church and being a part of a church body but about reading and studying God's Word and having a daily walk with Him.
Jane taught Sunday School for close to 40 years and touched countless lives through her ministry. When her two oldest grandsons were in elementary school, she felt God speaking strongly to her about taking them to church and helping them get to know more about Jesus. They both did come to know the Lord as did all of her other six grandchildren. Now the next generation is coming along and that beautiful legacy will continue.
Jane is preceded in death by her beloved husband Jerry, her parents and very recently by her brother Mike as well as many dear friends and other family members. Jane is survived by her 3 children: Scott and his wife Cheryl, Lori and Stephen and his wife Tonya, her 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and her sister Connie.
Jane's family would like to thank the staff of Forum Parkway Health and Rehabilitation for the care they have given to Jane while in their care.
We love you mom and we know we will be together again!!
