Publish in a newspaper

Jane L. Putrino (Dinola), 97, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025, in Endicott, New York. Born on July 8, 1928, in Binghamton New York, Jane lived a life marked by compassion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to her family and community.

A proud graduate of Wilson Memorial School of Nursing, Jane devoted her life to the care and service of others. Her nursing career spanned decades and left an indelible mark on those she worked with and cared for. As a nurse manager at Willow Point, she not only led with professionalism but also mentored countless new staff members, many of whom became lifelong friends. Even after retiring from full-time work, Jane continued to serve others; at the age of 89, she volunteered at Mercy House, offering comfort care and support to those in need during their most vulnerable moments.

Jane was predeceased by her beloved husband, Anthony "Tony" Putrino; her parents, Matthew and Mary Dinola; her sister Phyllis Lurenz and her husband George; her brother F. Donald Dinola and his wife Elaine; and her niece Marcene Forbes. Despite these losses, Jane remained a pillar of strength for her family. After Tony's passing, she lovingly cared for her mother Mary until her passing at the remarkable age of 106.

She is survived by her nephew Michael Dinola and his wife Sandy of North Carolina; niece Maria Twyman and her husband Carl of Wanakena, New York, and nephew Matthew Dinola and his wife Lisa of Massachusetts. She also leaves behind many great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews who will remember "smiley" Aunt Jane for her warmth and enduring love.

In later years, Jane found joy in the vibrant Hilltop United Methodist Community. There she embraced life fully-playing pinochle and bingo with friends and enjoying trips to Tioga Downs. Her days were filled with laughter, companionship, and a deep sense of gratitude for the life she had built.

Jane's faith was a guiding light throughout her life. Her devotion to both faith and family shaped every chapter of her journey. She lived each day with grace and purpose-a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

A celebration of Jane's life will be held on Saturday, November 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, 1905 Watson Boulevard, Endicott, NY 13760. In recognition of her lifelong contributions to nursing, she will be honored by the NY/Binghamton Nurses Honor Guard during the service.

Jane's family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Hilltop United Methodist Community for providing a fulfilling home in her later years. They also wish to acknowledge the compassionate team at Mercy House for their care during Jane's final days.

Jane was our Grandmother's Sister's (Mary Dinola) Daughter. She was always smiling and ready for great conversation.
Her care for her Mom Mary was unprecedented and for sure extended Mary's life by may years being her Healthcare advocate. May she rest in peace in a better place and maybe watch over us left in this crazy world.

Jane was my mother Roseann“s cousin. We used to take her and my mom to the Little Venice restaurant whenever we were in town and we always had the best of times. I admired her greatly as she lived her life in the service of others and treated everyone with compassion. She was one of the most remarkable women I have ever met and she was family. We loved her very much and will miss her terribly. If there is a heaven Jane would be admitted without question.

Respectfully,

Dr. William C. Skojec

Cousin Jane was absolutely wonderful, kindhearted and funny! We talked to her recently and she sounded great so we were surprised and saddened to hear this news! This was the family celebrating my parent's 50th anniversary! They all looked so good!! Jane and my mom, Florence Savo, were very close and now they are back together! We'll miss you, Jane! Love Terri (Savo) and Mike Benson.
