Jane Rakestraw passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, at the age of 78. Jane made her home in Stone Harbor, New Jersey, and spent her winters in Palm Springs, California, places that reflected her love of beauty, sunshine, and community.

Jane was born to John Rakestraw and Chloe Rakestraw (n e Muller), both of whom preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by her beloved twin sister, Susan Rakestraw, with whom she shared a lifelong and deeply meaningful bond.

Jane is survived by her many loving friends, who were truly her chosen family. She cultivated friendships that were loyal, enduring, and filled with warmth, laughter, and mutual care. Those who knew Jane understood the depth of her generosity, her sharp intellect, and her unmistakable presence.

Jane Rakestraw devoted more than 35 years of her professional life to Saks Fifth Avenue, where she rose to the position of Vice President of Human Resources. She was widely respected for her leadership, integrity, and commitment to mentoring others.

Jane greatly enjoyed golf, long dinners with friends, and staying actively engaged in the communities she loved. She was a committed and generous supporter of many charitable and educational organizations, including The Wetlands Institute of New Jersey, ASPCA, Eisenhower Medical Center, Lake Erie College, and the Abramson Cancer Center of Penn Medicine.

Jane will be remembered for her elegance, strength, wit, and the lasting impact she made on the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
