Publish in a newspaper

Jane Ardelle Edwards Rogers, age 89, of McColl, South Carolina, went home to Jesus on Friday, September 12, 2025, after a long and courageous journey with Alzheimer's disease.

Born on February 6, 1936, in Brockton, Massachusetts, Jane was the daughter of Allen and Ardelle Gallagher Edwards.

Jane met her husband, Jessie Rogers, in 1967 in Niagara Falls, New York. They married in January 1968 in Bennettsville, South Carolina, and went on to have 5 children, Jessie Jr., Sue Ann, Brenda, Charlie, and Raymond. After Jessie retired from General Motors in 1983, the family briefly moved to Greensboro, North Carolina, and Tatum, South Carolina, and finally planted roots in McColl, South Carolina.

In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Jane loved reading her Bible, caring for her grandchildren and others, baking cookies, and watching Gaither Vocal Band DVDs, as well as crime shows and mysteries. Throughout Jane's life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with many as she taught Vacation Bible School and Sunday School at Main Street Methodist Church for many years, and taught Sunday School and sang in the choir at Eastside Baptist Church.

Jane joins her husband Jessie and son Charlie in Heaven. She was also preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Virginia Folk, Robert Edwards, Claire Vass, Constance Mann, Allan Edwards, and Linda Casassa.

She is survived by her children, Jessie Rogers (Melissa), Sue Rogers (Rick Goff), Brenda Petruccelli (John), and Raymond Rogers, 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to Gentiva Hospice for their exceptional care during the last few weeks of Jane's life.

Jeremiah 29:11 – "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Main St. Methodist Church in McColl, SC. Burial is to follow at Rogers Cemetery in McColl.
