Jane Searight Obituary
Jane was born December 12, 1940 in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Edward S. Young and Jane Reeder Young.
She graduated from Beaver Falls High School in 1958 and then went on to Westminster College where she graduated in 1962. A long-time resident of San Francisco, California, she spent most of her professional life as an administrator in the Oakland Unified School District.
Jane especially loved animals and after her retirement served as a docent at the San Francisco Zoo.
She is survived by her brother Edward (Rosemary) Young, her niece Sage Young, her nephews Alexander Young and Andrew (Coline Delaporte) Young, her great nieces Sarah Jane Young, Rebecca Beatrice Young and Olive Delaporte-Young, a great nephew Felix Scott Young, and her beloved god-daughter Kimmberly Waller-Ware.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, and a nephew Scott E. Young.
Pursuant to her wishes there was no visitation.
Memorial donations in Jane's memory may be directed to the San Francisco Zoo or a charity that supports animals.
