Teresa Jane Singletary, beloved mother of two, passed away on June 1st, 2025, in her daughter’s home in Charleston, South Carolina. Her passing has left a void in her family’s heart that cannot be filled.
Jane was born in 1956 to Ewell and Isabelle Robeson - the last of their 10 children. She was raised in the tranquil beauty of the family’s Dublin, North Carolina farm. Jane attended and graduated from Tar Heel High School and Bladen Technical Community College. She was a long-standing fixture at Bladenboro Primary, serving for 36 years as their Data Manager.
Jane had a playful spirit and enjoyed crafting, reading and playing games with her family and friends. In her younger years she was an avid and talented softball player. She took special joy in line dancing and spent several magical nights listening to bands with her many friends.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Ewell and Isabelle Robeson and siblings, Leon Robeson, Robert Robeson, and Ellen Whitmill. She is survived by her daughter, Beth S. Barouh (Adam) of Charleston, SC, son, Chris Singletary (Samantha Odum) of Lumberton, Grandchildren, Summer Singletary and Carson Barouh, six siblings, Tim Robeson, Allen Robeson, Judy Hehl, Sharon Robeson, Anita Boney and Cathy Atkinson, and her devoted and deeply cherished dog, Sandi.
All who knew Jane are missing her today, and no one will ever forget the love she brought to their lives.
Jane lived a beautiful, colorful life, so her family requests that attendees of services celebrate her by wearing their most colorful clothing.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 11 am at the Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Bladenboro with the Reverend Jay Dorman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
