NAPERVILLE - Jane H. (nee Henderson) Solomon passed away peacefully on April 17, 2024. She was born September 29, 1933, in Bloomington, IL. She was raised in Colfax, IL, the daughter of Roy B. and Doris Harpole Henderson.

She married Richard H. Solomon in 1955, who preceded her in death in 2009, and is survived by her children: Karen Solomon (Wright King) of Naperville, IL, and Diane Wold of Excelsior, MN; along with her grandchildren: Brian Wold and Daniel Wold along with nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her and brother, and sister-in-law, Roy J. and Jean Henderson.

Jane graduated from Mennonite Hospital School of Nursing in 1954, and spent many years as a Registered Nurse and clinical instructor. Jane was part of the group that developed the Naperville Heritage Society, served on the Board that hired its first full-time director and worked to procure approval to move the first building to Naperville Settlement. She and Richard co-chaired the Society's Annual Antiques Show and Sale in the 1980s and directed the security teams over several years.

She was actively involved in the community as a 50-year lifetime member of Naperville Garden Club, who worked on countless annual Cup of Cheer homes to raise scholarship funds and enjoyed cultivating her gardens. She served as president of Naperville School District Home and School and led the referendum efforts to build the (new) Washington Junior High in the 1970s. They were founding members of the group that created the (former) Naperville Congregational Church and several other community initiatives.

Private family services have been held with interment in Colfax, IL.
