In Loving Memory of Jane Spoerel
January 16, 1950 – November 13, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Jane Spoerel on November 13, 2025, in Charlotte, NC, surrounded by her loving family.
Jane was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her. She was known for her infectious smile, an uncanny ability to make friends and always saw the good in people. Her warmth and strength were evident in every aspect of her life.
Born and raised in Queens, NY to Alice and George Jarvis, Jane had seven siblings (Joan, George, Cathy, Dorothy, Billy, Tommy and Eileen). She attended St. Gregory the Great grammar school and Dominican Commercial HS, where she began building friendships that would last a lifetime. After graduating high school, she started her career at Colgate Palmolive. By the time she retired, with over 25 years of service, she had worked for some of the highest executives in the company.
Jane married her soulmate, Jim, and together they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. Jane lovingly raised three sons in Bellerose Village, NY and worked hard to give them all they needed in life to be men of character and loyalty. Jane was a true survivor and continued to live each day with gratitude and grace. While life brought health challenges, we choose to remember the days where she was full of strength, energy and humor. Her courage and determination inspired everyone who knew her journey.
In 2011, Jane and Jim retired to South Carolina, embracing a new chapter of life filled with warm sunshine, new friends and world travel. Jane loved travel and explored the world with curiosity; she cherished each trip with Jim as a new adventure.
She departs her devoted husband Jim, her three loving sons Danny (Stephanie), Jimmy (Kristen), and Tommy (Jaclyn). A legacy of love, strength, and joy will live on in their hearts forever. She is forever 'Mimi' to 6 terrific grandchildren (Luke-16, Owen-15, Lila-15, Ryan-14, Emily-13 and Wyatt-9), who were each special to her in different ways.
Jane was a loving wife, an awesome mom, and simply the best sister, aunt and Mimi around. Her life was a beautiful journey, and her memory will continue to shine bright in the lives of those who knew her.
