Jane Elizabeth Stockwell, 69, of Jackson, Tennessee, passed away on March 29th surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 8, 1955, to Romie and Frances Neisler.

She married the love of her life, Terry Stockwell, and together they raised three children. Jane was a fierce advocate for her children.

Jane attended South Side High School, earned a B.S. in Education at Lambuth University, and an M.S. in Educational Counseling at the University of Memphis.

Mrs. Stockwell taught in Jackson at Pope, Nova, Denmark and East Elementary Schools, and in the Madison County Head Start Program. She was a volunteer and advocate supporting people with HIV. Jane was a member of Northside United Methodist Church.

Recently, Jane enjoyed living at Cades Center Assisted Living and was a good friend to other residents.

She is survived by her husband Terry, son Dr. Robert Day (Brandi), and daughters Amanda Lewis, and Stacey Dailey (Freddy), grandchildren Colbey, Hannah and Artem Day, as well as her brother Joe Neisler (Lori Ann).

She is predeceased by her parents Romie and Frances Neisler, and son-in-law Matthew Lewis.

The family is grateful for the staff at West Tennessee Healthcare, The Jackson Clinic, and Cades Assisted Living Center for their care over the years.

Funeral services will be held at Arrington Funeral Home in Jackson, TN on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with visitation from 11:00-1:00 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org/give
