Jane Thurman Obituary
NEW CASTLE
Jane Miller (Thomas) Thurman, age 100, of New Castle passed away Friday, Aug. 22, 2025. Jane was a member of the New Castle Christian. She had a bachelor's degree from Eastern University and taught at Henry County for 38 years. Jane enjoyed bird watching, going to the beach and watching sports. She especially loved spending time with family.
Jane was the daughter of the late W.D. and Sallie (Davis) Thomas and was preceded in death by her husband, Foster Tom Thurman; and a sister, Bettie Thomas.
She is survived by her daughter, Phoebe Thompson (Todd) of New Castle; granddaughter, Janey Thompson of New Castle; and her grandson, Finnegan Thompson of New Castle.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2025, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Dr. Corky Klingenfus will officiate and will be assisted by Pastor Mike Napier. Burial will be in New Castle Cemetery.
