Jane Whyte Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brough Funeral Home on Jan. 4, 2026.
Jane Whyte, age 94, went home to be with the Lord and many loved ones who had gone before, on January 1st, 2026. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

She enjoyed spending time with her husband, family, church, and friends. Everything from going out with her husband every week to school activities with her children to going to church and fellowship with her church family.

We will keep her in our hearts and memories. Her devotion in the good times and bad, and everything in between. All the love given to and received from everyone she knew. She has forever changed our lives.

She is survived by her children, Doug Whyte, Daren Whyte, and Darla Boocher. Jane was a proud grandmother to Paul (Veronica) Boocher and Christa Boocher. Jane (Allen) Phinney, Sarah (Cory) Hendrix, Donald (Darcy) Whyte, and Karah (Travis Gilliam) Whyte. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Joana Boocher, Elena Boocher, Lazarus Boocher, Alysia Phinney, Aubrey Hendrix, Adeline Hendrix, and Austyn Gilliam.

Jane is further survived by her siblings, Barbara Board and Edna Neiser, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Whyte; her daughter, Donna Johnson; her grandchildren, Darla Johnson and Stephen Boocher; her siblings, Robert, Walter Jr., Alvin, Arvin, and Gordon Coil; Jean Rowley; and Meryl Randolph.

Family and friends are invited to her visitation on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Moraine City First Church of God. 5867 Springboro Pike, Dayton, OH, 45449. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the church, with burial to follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens
