Jane Edna (Schell) Wick of Mount Airy, Maryland, passed away on July 24, 2025, at the age of 93.
Jane Edna Wick was born the second of a set of twin daughters to Mr. Raymond S. Schell and Ethel M. (Warfel) Schell on June 25, 1932, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister Jean Shoup, four brothers; Raymond, Dale and Dean (twin brothers) and Norman, and son Mark.
She was the proud mother of five children, eldest Andria Raine of Westminster, MD, Mark Alan deceased at age 56, Bryant Douglas (Karen) of Mount Airy, MD, Curtis Jay (Karen) of Jefferson, MD, and Howard Owen of Frederick, MD. She was the happy grandmother of 3 grandsons and 4 granddaughters.
She graduated High School in 1950 in Homer City, PA and attended Indiana State Teachers College, Home Economics Dept. for 3 years, leaving college to marry the love of her life, Gerald (Jerry) Henry Wick, December 26, 1955. They were blessed with 69 years of marriage.
She and Jerry moved to Maryland in 1960 living in Aspen Hill, then Riva, enjoying the Chesapeake Bay, before moving in 2003 to Sun City, Bluffton, SC. They enjoyed RVing across the country, returning to Maryland in 2021 to enjoy family.
Jane was devoted to her church, singing in the church choirs starting as a teenager, active in the women's groups and holding various positions. She made many friends in the Bible study groups.
Cremation will take place immediately with a Memorial Service to take place at a later date. Interment will be in the cremorial at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Bluffton, SC next to her son.
Expressions of sympathy can be made to Jennings Chapel United Methodist Church, 2601 Jennings Chapel Rd., Woodbine, MD 21797.
