Janell Kay Salisbury, 68, of Bellaire, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City with her beloved family at her side. She was born on December 11, 1956, in Traverse City, MI, the daughter of Forest and Elaine (Lautner) Skiver.
Janell loved nothing more than to spend time with her granddaughters, and her favorite place to spend it with them was at Disney World. She was a people-person at heart and enjoyed working several jobs in the Bellaire area over the years. She spent most of her working life in food service and was employed at pretty much every establishment in town at one point or another; Mrs. Pete’s, McDonalds, Subway, Hawk’s Eye, Gabby’s, the Village Chalet, the Marathon station, the Bellaire Bowling Alley, Auto Value, and Classic Pizza in Central Lake to name a few! Janell also collected anything Coca Cola and amassed quite a collection over her lifetime. She loved all of her dogs that she had throughout the years. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Janell is survived by her two children, Brian (Angie) Salisbury of Traverse City, and Tracy (Rob) Milligan of Mancelona; four grandchildren, Shelly Salisbury, Molly Milligan, Madison Milligan, and Melaine Milligan; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Cora; and two sisters, Terry Timmermans of Traverse City, and Janet Porter of Traverse City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Salisbury; her sister, Tana Halvorsen; her niece, Missy; and her brother-in-law, Larry Porter.
A funeral service will take place at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Brian Bailey officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services at 5:00 p.m.
