Janet Rose Aglietti passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 27, 2024 with her family by her side. Janet is survived by her husband of 60 years, William Aglietti, her children, Lisa Aglietti (Bill VonSlep) of Murrells Inlet, SC, William Aglietti (Rebecca), their daughter, Whitney, and Robert Aglietti (Daphne), their children Chloe, Sophie, and Lucas, all of Pittsburgh PA. She is remembered fondly by her nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Janet was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Jennie (Napolello) Chiaramonte as well as her brother, Michael Chiaramonte.
Janet was born in in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where attended St Lawrence O'Toole Catholic School. Following high school, she worked for Westinghouse until she began raising her children. Janet enjoyed cooking and baking, reading, crossword puzzles, bowling, card playing and flower gardening in her earlier years. Once her children were grown, she and Bill had the opportunity to travel and visited every state in the continental US. For many years, their home away from home was Surfside Beach, SC, where they would spend several months throughout the year enjoying the warm weather and socializing with family and friends. While they enjoyed their travels immensely, Penn Hills and the original house they purchased shortly after marrying in November 1964 was where their heart was. Bill and Janet remained in their home until June 2023 when they moved to Murrells Inlet, SC due to Janet's declining health.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Traditions Hospice, NHC Healthcare and Palmetto's Assisted Living/Memory Care for the excellent care Janet received during her time with them. Over the past year, each caregiver and staff member ensured that she was safe, well taken care of, and that her days were enriched with meaningful activities and interactions. For this we are forever grateful.
The family will not hold a service for Janet at this time and humbly request that you please keep her husband, Bill in your prayers as he moves forward without her by his side. If you are so inclined to honor Janet with a charitable donation, she supported the following charities and believed strongly in their mission to help our veterans: Tunnel to Towers Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project . Her journey with Alzheimer's/dementia has also brought to light the work of the Alzheimer's Association as they continue to their work to find a cure and support patients and families affected by Alzheimer's/Dementia.
Burroughs Funeral Home (843-651-1440) of Murrells Inlet, SC. is honored to be assisting the family.

From the Krahling family to the Aglietti family, sadness abounds. We go back many years: through soccer, being neighbors, Mike and Billy´s continued friendship , bowling, PTA ......
Jan´s (and Bills) involvement (and joy)in raising their family was always their priority. Having those memories will
Help you weather the emptiness right now. Feel Gods arms around you as he comforts you. Donna and Kurt and kids
