Janet Ruth Avery

Janet Ruth Avery, 80, of Zephyrhills received her crown of glory Sunday, February 8, 2025 at the Gardens of Westbrooke. Born, in Erie, Pennsylvania January 21, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Dale and Clara (Steinbarth) Avery.

She worked in a number of clerical positions and as a Weight Watchers Meeting Leader/Coach. Her faith in God was strong as she served in many positions at the Church and traveled to Holy Land twice. Janet served on many boards including, Past Present of the Pasco County Genealogical Society, Vice President of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Zephyrhills and the LWML Winter Haven Zone Vice Present of Gospel Outreach. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, making greeting cards for those with cancer and willing to try a new craft.

Janet is survived by her sister, Linda Potts; niece, Stephanie (Erik) Whittenberg; nephew, Steven (Lindsay) Potts; great nieces, Addyson Whittenberg, Abbigail and Emily Potts all of Ft Lauderdale, FL; several cousins and dear friend, Cheri Briggs. A Celebration of life will be held 11 AM Saturday, February 28th, 2026 at Our Savoir Lutheran Church, 5626 20th Street, Zephyrhills, with Pastor Tod Shouse officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church or Pasco County Genealogical Society and would be appreciated.
