Janet Baughman Obituary
Janet "Angel" Baughman, a cherished soul who brought joy and light to all who knew her, left us with unforgettable memories that will inspire generations to come. Born on August 13, 1950, she was a beloved sister, aunt, and friend who spent her life spreading love and happiness.
Growing up in Akron, Ohio, Angel graduated from Buchtel High School, where her vibrant spirit and zest for life began to touch the lives of those around her. With a heart full of compassion, she developed a special bond with animals, particularly horses, which became one of her greatest passions. Riding brought her immense joy and serenity, reflecting her innate grace and gentleness.
Angel's love for music was as boundless as her spirit. Her days were filled with the melodies of her favorite artists like The Beatles, John Denver, Glen Campbell, and Elvis Presley. Her love for the hit TV show character MacGyver only underscored her adventurous and resourceful nature. Yet, it was her ability to turn any moment into a dance floor, joyfully twisting away to her heart's delight, that truly exemplified her love for life.
Her interests also extended to thrilling rides on jet skis and boating adventures, experiences she cherished deeply. With a timeless, carefree attitude, in 2024, she could still be found relishing life like she was living in the 1960s-full of laughter and exuberance.
Angel had an extraordinary love for children and dogs, her gentle nature endearing her to them effortlessly. She was a nurturing presence whose warmth embraced everyone she met.
Preceded in death by her parents, Ann and Forrest Baughman, brothers Dale and Duane Baughman, niece Christine Riley, and nephew Mark Wine, Angel's legacy is carried forward by her loving siblings: Janice (Doug) Ross, Rebecca (Nick) Marro, Brenda Muraco, David Baughman, Kim (Larry) Jarvis, Lane (Barry) Cook, and Matthew Baughman. Many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nephews will continue to honor her memory.
A celebration of her remarkable life will be held on April 19th at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens, located at 6500 New Hope Road, Belmont, NC. Those fortunate enough to have known Angel will remember her as the funny little girl who brought pieces of childhood back to life with her unique gifts. Her "special needs" only endeared her further into our hearts, redefining what it means to live fully and love unconditionally.
