Janet A Bemis

Janet A. Bemis, 70, of Corry, PA, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025, at her residence.
She was born on March 14, 1955, in Corry, PA, a daughter of the late Albert and Ann Young.
Jan was raised and educated in Corry and obtained her GED from Corry High School. After high school, she owned and operated Bemis Signs for many years until she retired. She was very active in the Corry community and volunteered at the Corry Food Panty, Corry Area Historic Society and Museum, Chamber of Commerce and would assist in organizing the Corry parades. Jan also wrote a few books on history.
In her younger years, she enjoyed riding motorcycles. She was a member of the Corry Photography club and was big into animal rescuing. Jan also loved gardening and was a beekeeper for a period of time.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Greg Desmond; second husband, Al Bemis and brother, Jerry Hall. Jan is survived by her daughter, Valerie Desmond-Lilley and grandson, Rhett Desmond both of Corry, PA.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life at the Corry Museum, 945 Mead Ave, Corry, PA 16407 on Saturday, May 3rd from 10 am until 1 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Corry Area Historic Society or Corry Area Food Pantry, P.O. Box 236, Corry, PA 16407. Arrangements are under the care of Bracken Funeral Home, Inc., 315 N. Center St, Corry, PA 16407.
