I am absolutely heartbroken. On Thursday, January 18th, around 11:30pm, I lost my mom.
Services will be held this Saturday, January 27th at 1:00 pm at Hollomon-Brown, Great Neck Chapel.
She was absolutely adored and we were the best of friends and always will be. If I had to chose another life, I would choose my parents all over again. I was so blessed to have them. I can't believe that she's gone. She died from complications of dementia and COVID, but miraculously, she still knew who I was, Dan was, and asked about the girls, meaning Alsi and my granddaughter, Theodora. I am so thankful that she got to hold her great-granddaughter before she died, when we flew out to California to see them.
A few weeks before she died she asked me permission to go be with my dad and repeatedly asked for her mom and dad. Her last words spoken to me were this past Wednesday, the day before she died. She could no longer put sentences together, but carefully and slowly she said, "You love me, and I love you." Her last words are the greatest blessing to me. She went to sleep and never woke up. I will forever cherish her. She will be with me in everything I do. She was everything a mom should be. I can't picture my life without her. It is not lost on me that her service will be held on her dad's birthday; my grandfather that passed when I was two years old.
Mom was a mom, a wife, and a homemaker but absolutely loved line dancing! It brought such joy to her heart and she and dad made so many wonderful friends. She lived for the Farmer's Market on Friday nights. I am so grateful to all of her friends that brought her so much joy.
We love you mom. You are now healthy and whole and probably entertaining everyone on the Other Side. I'll see you again. Until then, I hold you in my heart.
