Janet Ann Binkerd

Janet Ann Binkerd, age 63, of Gloucester Point, passed unexpectedly on Friday, November 24, 2023, at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital. Janet was born on September 14, 1960, to James and Deloris Davis Wohleber in Ohio. Janet spent most of her career in property management, though she gracefully followed where life took her. She served in the US Air Force from 1978 to 1983, where she met the father of Jason and Eric. She also spent time at sea on a cruise liner visiting many countries along the way. Finally settling down in Virginia to be with her grandchildren, she was employed by Waste Management until retirement. In retirement, Janet loved to spend her free time with her grandchildren and family. Over the decades, Janet was a surrogate mother to all her children's friends, all of whom called her mom. She was preceded in death by her mother, Deloris Ann Sketcher. Janet is survived by her children, Jeremy Cook and his family, Jason Binkerd, Eric Binkerd (Nicole), grandchildren Jaxon Binkerd, Evan Binkerd "Monkey Boy", her father, James "Jim" Wohleber, siblings Jami Krugman and Judy Valko. A celebration of life service will be held at the family's home at a later date.
