Janet Blaize Obituary
Janet Sue (Hinkle) Blaize, 88 of Francisco passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City. She was born October 27, 1936 in Evansville, to Wade and Martha Wilhelmina (Glaubke) Hinkle Longabaugh.
Janet had lived in Francisco for many years. She attended Reitz High School in Evansville but she moved to Hazleton and graduated from Hazleton High School in 1955. She loved Elvis Presley's music enjoyed reading, playing cards and being involved with her children's activities. She married Richard Cornelius Blaize on January 12, 1957, and together they raised many beagle dogs.
Janet is survived by her sons, Richard K. Blaize, Bradford W. Blaize (Teresa), and Brian A Blaize, (Shari); sister, Anita Shouse; step-brother, Charles Longabaugh; grandchildren, Brandi Maggard, Taran Mossberger (Mike), Austin Blaize, Rashel Low (David), Amber Hansen (Andrew), Bailey Blaize, and Brett Blaize. 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Richard C. Blaize; parents, Wade and Martha Hinkle Longabaugh; step-father, Glen Longabaugh; sisters, Barbara Barnes and Phyllis McClarney; and step-brother, Larry Longabaugh.
A funeral service to celebrate Janet's life will be held 2 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2025 at the Francisco General Baptist Church, with Pastor Rick Gilmore officiating. Burial will follow in the Francisco Community Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 12 to 2 p.m. at the church.
