Janet Blasioli Obituary
Born in Athol, MA on July 22, 1931, to the late Harold and Viola Cady. Janet moved to the Berkshires as a young child, attended Pittsfield High School, and met the love of her life, Anthony J. Blasioli Sr. Together they raised five children.
Janet was employed at Hillcrest Hospital, General Electric, and retired from General Dynamics. Her love of being around people brought her back to work during her retirement for Steigers, Filenes, and then Macy's clothing stores. She loved meeting new people and hearing their stories. Janet was a longtime communicant of Mount Carmel Church, later attending St. Joseph's Parish. Janet enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, and sewing. The beach was one of her happy places. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Janet was predeceased by her husband of 70 years; her daughters Linda Stringer and Paula LeMire; son-in-law Arthur LeMire; and siblings Dolores Soules, Chester Spencer, and James Spencer.
Janet is survived by her sister Judith Parks; daughters, Susan (William) Harrington, Candace (Joel) Scussel; son, Anthony Blasioli Jr., son-in-law, Bruce Stringer; nine grandchildren, Heidi, Erik, William Jr., Andrea, Jacob, Hanna, Cassondra, Jessica, Jill, 13 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and close friends.
Janet was the matriarch of her family and will be greatly missed by all that knew her. As she always said, do everything while you're young and just have FUN.
FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Janet Blasioli will be Monday July 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St. Pittsfield, MA. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. A calling hour will be held Monday morning from 10-11 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in care of the funeral home. To add to the Book of Memories, please visit www.flynndagnolifuneralhomes.com.

To the Blasioli family, my deepest condolences, I'm so sorry for the loss of your mom. the blasioli family were great neighbors on pecks rd most of my life..Paula and I were very close growing up.but every time I see your mom taking a walk down pecks road she always stop at my house and we talked. She was the sweetest and friendly person I know..everytime I would put a prayer on fb your mom would answer and always thanked me...I will miss her

I worked at GE with Janet . I remember her as being kind and compassionate and ready to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it .

I am very sorry to learn if Mrs. Bladioli's passing. I was a very good friend of her daughter Linda who I always thought was just as beautiful and endearing as her mom was. I send my prayers and condolences to Tony, Candace, Susan, Hannah, Jake, Bruce and the many extended members of the family. Her constant and congenial smile, which her sweet husband Mr. B. also possessed, will be missed.

Our condolences to Janet's whole family and her many friends. Janet has been our neighbor for over 40 years and I also worked with her at GE. She was always fun to be around and would honestly share her opinions with you without any pretenses. Janet was a hard worker and a terrific neighbor. Janet's great personality will be missed. Please accept my Deepest Condolences on the loss of your mother.
Years ago I worked at Textile Store part time. Your mother and father use to come into the children´s department with all their family. Than when I went to work at GE your mother was there. (What a wonderful LADY) . Our paths crossed again when Susan worked at UPS with my husband Fran. And again when my Uncle Ray and Aunt Grace lived next door to Susan and Bill.
I sent your Mon´s Obituary to my brother-in-law Al as he also worked with your Mom ad thought the world of her. Funny how in life our paths have crossed so many times.
I don´t think their is a person who didn´t like/love your Mom, she was really so sweet.
Just think when she took her last breath here on earth and opened her eyes in heaven she ran right into the arms of our lord. And on the side waiting for her was her beloved husband and her two daughters that went before her, plus all her other family members and friends. She is so Happy now and will be there to greet everyone when their time comes.
I´m sorry that I can´t make it to her wake and funeral as I have an other appointment. Otherwise I would be there.
Hold all of your memories in your heart as that is where your Mom is.
