Janet Collins Boduch, 79, passed away peacefully on the morning of Thursday, September 11th, 2025. Born January 6th, 1946, to James and Genevieve Collins, she was raised in Dover, NH, surrounded by her parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins who treasured her greatly.
Janet was part of the first ever graduating class of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 1964, then went on to receive an associate's degree in secretarial science from McIntosh College in 1966. Afterwards, she began her career at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, where she met her husband. She proceeded to work as a one-on-one aide with intellectually disabled children at Barrington Elementary School. Later, she dedicated many years to the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, where she proudly served as the Federal Women's Program manager for the state of New Hampshire.
Janet married her husband, Thaddeus Stanley Boduch, in 1972 in Dover, NH. They were committed partners to each other, loving parents to their five children, and highly beloved grandparents to their five grandchildren. Active in her faith, Janet was a devoted communicant of Parish of the Assumption.
Janet bravely fought ovarian cancer for four years, often touting her toughness from being born and raised in New Hampshire. She was known for her unbelievable kindness, compassion, patience, humility, and loving heart. Janet touched the lives of many, through her words and in her actions. To know her was to love her.
Janet was fiercely proud of her family and happily accepted the name "Grammy" by many. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, reading, writing letters or sending her highly adored texts, listening to Christmas music year round, the happiness of a graduation, volunteering in her community, watching the hummingbirds, gardening, and having a meaningful conversation over a strong cup of tea. Janet was the embodiment of goodness and grace. She was a shining example of how we should all care for each other.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Seacoast Cancer Center, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, and Mass General Brigham Hospital for their dedication and compassionate care.
Janet was predeceased by her parents James and Genevieve Collins, her sisters Joan Birch and Jeraldine Blenkhorn, Jeraldine's husband James Blenkhorn, and her brother James "Jay" Collins.
Janet is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Thaddeus Boduch; adoring children, Anastasia "Stasia" Boduch, Stephanie Dimke and her husband Luke, Stanley Boduch and his partner Lisa Smith, Stephen Boduch and his wife Aissa, and Samuel Boduch and his partner Jamy Borbidge; beloved grandchildren, Madeline Boduch and her husband Joseph Tamburro, Luke Dimke, Jonah Boduch, Thaddeus "Tadziu" Boduch, and Clare Dimke; cherished sister Jenifer Frederickson and her partner, Denis Vachon; treasured brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and many precious nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She will be missed dearly.
In lieu of flowers, her family would greatly appreciate donations to the Barrington Community Food Pantry at 105 Ramsdell Lane, Barrington, NH and Northeast Passage at 121 Technology Drive, Suite 161 Durham, NH.
There will be a funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Church, 150 Central Avenue, Dover, NH on Saturday, September 20th, at 9:30am.
